Budget 2027 is confirmed for 6 October 2026, with an €8.5 billion package. The detail isn’t out yet, but here’s what’s worth watching if pensions, savings or tax affect you.
Budget 2027 will be delivered on 6 October 2026. The Summer Economic Statement has already confirmed an overall package of €8.5 billion, though the department hasn’t published where that money goes yet.
I’m not going to guess at figures before they’re announced. What I can tell you is where to look once the detail lands.
Pensions: My Future Fund is now up and running, and the opt-out window for anyone auto-enrolled on 1 January closed on 31 August. Any pension changes in this Budget will land on top of that, so it’s worth reading the detail rather than skimming the headline.
Savings and investments: the planned Savings and Investment Account framework, and any move on deemed disposal and exit tax, are both worth watching given how much comment they’ve drawn this year.
Personal tax: USC and income tax bands are always part of the conversation. Nothing is confirmed, so treat anything you read before 6 October as speculation.
I’ll cover what’s actually in it next month, once it’s published.
